Program Description:

Istituto Lorenzo de' Medici - Florence

City of Florence
Founded in 1973 in Florence, Istituto Lorenzo de' Medici (LdM) is among Italy's most comprehensive and well-established international institutions in higher education. Throughout its three campuses, LdM hosts over 3000 students annually from all over the world. The educational opportunities at each of LdM's three sites are deeply rooted in their surrounding environments, allowing students to experience first-hand the inspiring culture of both historical and contemporary Italy. LdM integrates formal, university-level learning with an emphasis on personal growth, individual engagement, and community responsibility.
LdM offers students a plethora of courses in several subject areas which are designed to complement a variety of academic majors as well as to enrich the student's experience, education and skills. The academic semester and year abroad programs foster awareness and understanding of not only the course topics, but also of Italian culture. Students may customize their courses of study according to their academic needs and personal interests. At LdM's main campus in Florence, students can choose from a wide range of courses. A full list of courses offered at LdM Florence can be found on the LdM Florence Course Schedule.
LdM's experienced on-site housing coordinators facilitate student housing placement. Accommodations in a double room in a student shared apartment are included in the program fee.

LdM Florence Housing Service includes:
• Rent, with fixed check-in and check-out dates
• Repairs not caused by students
• Average Utilities (water, gas, electricity) up to $75 per month. Utility expenses above $75 will be charged to student residents.
