Cergy-Pontoise is a vibrant university town in the heart of the Val d’Oise. It is located close to the Palace of Versailles and approximately 35 minutes from central Paris. Cergy-Pontoise has about 185,000 inhabitants and over 20,000 students from several higher education institutions in the area. Its green spaces and location on the Oise River provide an attractive setting with plenty of cultural and recreational activities.

Ecole Nationale Superieure de l’Electronique et de se Applications (ENSEA) is a "Grande Ecole" and one of the top engineering schools in France, especially for electrical engineering. The French-American Exchange Program (FAME) is designed for
UB juniors with a major in Electrical Engineering. ENSEA is a highly selective and specialized institution with 800 students and strong links to industry. Approximately 15% of its students come from outside France.
Courses are taught in English by ENSEA professors. University at Buffalo junior, Electrical Engineering students will study alongside other students from select US partners including Illinois Institute of Technology at Chicago (IIT), University of Pittsburgh (UPitt), Colorado School of Mines (CSM), University of Colorado at Boulder (UCB), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), Georgia Tech (GaTech), University of Michigan at Ann Arbor (U-M), and Mississippi State University (MSU). Course selections include:
  • Electronic Circuits & Laboratory
  • Computer Architecture and Introduction to Microprocessors
  • Algorithms design and analysis
  • Operating Systems
  • Signals and Systems
  • Fundamentals of Power Engineering
  • Probability and Statistics
  • Communication Systems
  • French Language and Culture*
*The compulsory French Language and Culture course has been approved to meet the Humanities UB Area in the Global Pathway of the UB Curriculum.

Participants will be housed in the Alegessec Residence des Linandes in suites of two or four single rooms with shared kitchens and bathrooms. All residence halls are within a short walk of the ENSEA campus.
