Germany: Climate Change Law and Policy

Jane Goodall     Student at UN Conference     Sierra Club - UN Conference

Students will learn about international law through the substantive area of climate change law and policy. Students will participate in the annual negotiations of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The The UNFCCC is the international treaty on climate change. Every year there is a conference of the parties where world leaders, policymakers, and nongovernmental actors gather to discuss climate change and the best methods to both mitigate its effects and adapt to the already inevitable changes. This meeting usually takes place toward the end of the calendar year, facilitating its incorporation into the fall semester. Participants will register for LAW 819 (3 credits) during the fall semester.

Students will stay in a hotel located near the UN conference venue.

Please contact the Faculty Director.
