Program Description:

China and Hong Kong Business Environment

Hong Kong     
Hong Kong is one of the Special Administrative Regions of the People's Republic of China. It is situated on China's south coast and enclosed by the Pearl River Delta and South China Sea, it is known for its expansive skyline and deep natural harbor. With a landmass of 426 square miles and a population of seven million people, Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated areas in the world.

As one of the world's leading international financial centers, Hong Kong has a major capitalist service economy characterized by low taxation and free trade, and the currency, Hong Kong dollar, is the eighth most traded currency in the world, making is a perfect location for the Asian Business & The Global Economy program and course.

Students participating in this two week program will earn 3 credits for the following course:

GEO 403: China and Hong Kong Business Environment
This course provides practical perspectives required to manage operations in Asia, with a focus on Hong Kong and China. The course also provides an assessment of how to enter the Chinese market, and an understanding of their roles in the global economy. It will be taught entirely in English and will focus on the business environment of Hong Kong and China.

This innovative program brings together students from various countries, thus enhancing your cross-cultural experience.

Students will also have the opportunity to visit companies in Hong Kong and China to experience firsthand the business environment and cultures of the companies operating there.

Hotel/Hostel accommodations will be arranged for students while staying in Hong Kong and Shenzhen. Students will share double rooms with the same gender. Costs for the hotels are included in the Program Fee.
